Baki Hanma vs Kengan Ashura review

Netflix is on steroids, and the platform is continuously expanding its anime portfolio with original content. The latest addition to the same was Baki Hanma Vs Kengan Ashura. Two of the most popular anime shows – Baki Hanma and Kengan Ashura, collide with each other, and the product is more than amazing.

We get to see the top fighter from both anime shows pitted against each other in a 1V1 scenario. It was an hour long and consisted of three major fights. Here in this article, we will explore the major events of Baki Hanma vs Kengan Ashura, followed by the possibility of Baki Hanma vs Kengan Ashura 2.

Baki Hanma vs Kengan Ashura Review

Baki Hanma vs Kengan Ashura kick starts by showing Baki and Ohma Tokita crossing paths with each other. They indulge in eye contact while jogging, and that results in an earthquake (not kidding, a real earthquake). Then, the narrators of both shows take over and tell us that there is a battle of underground arenas on the way. The battle is nothing but the result of the bosses – Metsudo Katahara and Mitsunari Tokugawa, drinking whiskey together and then coming to a conclusion that they will test the strength of their associations by pitting the best fighters from both arenas against each other.

Strength itself is technique and technique itself is strength

First Battle: Saw Paing Vs Kaoru Hanayama

Hanayama vs Saw Paing

Saw Paing hails as one of the deadliest fighters from the Kengan Ashura universe. However, he becomes adamant about winning as he learns his father’s history. The first inter-association battle was fought between Saw Pain’s father and Doppo Orochi. The results of the match were never disclosed, but it was clear that both the fighters were a good match.

The match starts with Saw Paing trying his best to dominate Hanayama on the battlefield. However, things take a turn when Hanayama gets back on him with a killer punch. The match becomes intense with every attack exchanged between them. We also get to see a glimpe of the bosses having a word with the fighters and giving them details about their rivals.

The moment Hanayama falls on his knees, it seems like Saw Paing is going to outclass Hanayama. Nonetheless, that’s Hanayama for God’s Sake. Even after getting punched left, right, and centre, he fights back and tears down Saw Paing’s forearm. The last few attack exchanges between the two could be defined as more than zealous. Hanayama ends up winning the first battle of the Baki Vs Kengan tournament.

Second Battle: Raian Kure Vs Jack Hanma

Raian Kure and Jack Hanma go all in against each other in a fight for principles. While Raian Kure hates that Jack uses steroids to reach ultimate power, Jack despises him because he is a product of selective mating and birth (as his family wanted an ultimate weapon instead of a child).

The exchange of blows between both fighters was spectacular, and no one was willing to give up. It was nothing like a basic play-to-win match, as it turned into a win-or-die kind of battle. While Kure was trying his best to Jack, the latter started biting Kure’s muscles. Nonetheless, in the end, Kure won, but the other fighters were supposed to stop them because they continuously fought even after the decision came out.

However, things came to a halt when Pickle breached the arena. As soon as Pickle was going to attack Kure and Jack, Baki and Ohma intervened by stopping all of them in a single move. Kure, being Kure, challenged Baki, to which the latter responded by saying I’ll fight you later.

Third Battle: Ohma Tokita Vs Baki Hanma

We’ve only started fighting, but I already know – you are just like me.

Baki Hanma

And finally, after 44 minutes, we get to see the much-awaited battle, Baki Hanma vs Ohma Tokita. The battle starts on a high note, and Baki takes out Ohma by beating his indestructible. Things get pretty heated as soon as Ohma starts fighting bikes, and we get to see a high-voltage match. Baki and Ohma were giving it all to the fight. Moves and counter so quickly that it feels like they are reading each other’s minds. Then the aura changes when Baki shows his true form with the Demon Back, and Ohma lets his evil side take over him. The match results in a draw, and you’ll know why in the next subheading.

In their quest for strength, they elevate each other.

The battle that never happened: Kuroki ‘The Devil Lance’ Gensai Vs Yujiro Hanma

Yujiro Hanma vs Kuroki Gensai

Baki and Ohma both fell to the ground with the last punch to each other. They then get to see Yujiro Hanma intruding into the arena, followed by Kengan legend Kuroki Gensai. Both Yujiro and Kuroki addressed each other and wanted to fight it out then and there. Nevertheless, this didn’t went well with Baki and Ohma as they wanted to complete their fight.

Meanwhile, Mitsunari Tokugawa takes over everything by saying that he was planning to pit Yujiro Hanma in a future brawl but the latter has spoiled the show for now. Metsudo and Mtisunari convince Yujiro and Kuroki by saying that they will get to fight in future. However, the result of the same was that the match between Baki and Ohma was declared a draw.

Baki Hanma Vs Kengan Ashura 2: What are the possibilities?

Baki Hanma vs Kengan Ashura 2

There is a high chance that we will see Baki Hanma vs Kengan Ashura in the near future because the narrator says the same thing. As of now, there is no official confirmation regarding this. And it will be pretty early to come to any conclusions. That being said, if Baki Hanma Vs Kengan Ashura 2 happens, then it will not only be about Baki Vs Ohma. Instead, we will also get to see Yujiro Hanma Vs Kuroki Gensai. Until then, if you are a Demon Slayer fan, too, have a look at Demon Slayer Breathing Techniques, where we’ve ranked the best ones according to their strength.
