Amazon even treated us to the official teaser trailer, giving us a sneak peek into the first episode and leaving us all on the edge of our seats.

According to many reliable sources and a discussion panel straight from SDCC 24, Like A Dragon Yakuza is all set to premiere in October 2024. Meanwhile, the first three episodes premiere exclusively on 24 October. The Like A Dragon Yakuza adaptation will consist of six episodes, and the second half will commence on 1 November 2024.  

As for the Cast, Ryoma Takeuchi will play the role of Kazuma Kiryu, the protagonist of the Yakuza series, until Ichiban Kasuga leads the storyline in Like A Dragon Yakuza. On the other hand, we will unveil Kento Kaku as Nishikiyama, also known as Nishiki, who played a major role as an antagonist in the series.  

For someone wondering, Takeuchi Ryoma is widely known for his incredible role in Kamen Riders as Shinnosuke Tomari. Meanwhile, Kento Kaku has an amazing career in voice acting alongside acting as he delivered his voice in Ranma ½ and SPYxFamily: Code White.

Amazon Prime released a teaser trailer for Like A Dragon Yakuza a couple of hours ago, and fans are buzzing around with excitement as the upcoming zenith will surpass any live-action adapted till now for Sega’s iconic series!! 

According to the trailer, fans witness Ryoma Takeuchi’s first visual as Kazuma Kiryu in the world of Yakuzas. However, the teaser trailer captivates fans to an extent with its phenomenal OST and a stunning cameo of Kiryu’s tattoo. Meanwhile, fans were delighted by Kento Kaku’s cameo as Nishikiyama!! 

Likewise, the trailer delves into the heinous world of Kamurocho, where fans will get a chance to unveil the day-to-day life experience of a Yakuza. Additionally, fans erupt on the internet with several questions about bringing Goro Majima and Haruka Sawamura, who play a vital role in Kiryu’s life. However, the nightlife of Kamurocho and Kiryu’s lifespan as a Yakuza hype up the fanbase.  

Amazon’s Exquisite Series Like A Dragon Yakuza Delights Fans with an Official Director’s Cut!! 

The storyline will follow two different timelines from 1995 to 2005, including the fearsome life of Kiryu and his childhood best friend Nishikiyama in Kamurocho, Tokyo. Likewise, Masayoshi Yokoyama, executive producer and director of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios, shared his insights for the Like A Dragon Yakuza live-action adaptation.  

Masayoshi says the upcoming series is his biggest fear as it might become an imitation. However, his excitement for the live-action adaptation is well reflected in the fanbase.  Masayoshi also states, “It might be the writer’s affection due to which the production didn’t neglect the original storyline”.

On the other hand, he hints at the fandom with a major surprise at the end of episode 1. Lastly, Masayoshi says, “The portrayal of the character in the upcoming series is different from what we created 20 years ago”.
