Mappa has revealed the main cast, first trailer, and key visuals of the upcoming anime named Ranma 1/2 in a large-scale announcement livestream. The anime is all set to make its debut on October 5, 2024. It is a remake of the original Ranma 1/2 that sires from 1989 to 1992 and had 161 episodes. The series also has manga with the same name, which is written and illustrated by Rumiko Takahashi. According to the official Twitter Account of Ranma 1/2, it has been revealed that the first episode will be dropped on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at 12:55 AM JST. After that, all the episodes will be released on Sunday at the same time. The date of release could differ according to the timezone you are living in. Not only this but after the broadcast is completed, the anime will also be available on Netflix to stream on a global level.

Ranma 1/2 details that you should know

The first trailer of Ranma 1/2 showcases all characters, including Ranma Santome, Kasumi Tendo, Akana Tendo, Shampoo, and more. The animation quality is way better than the original versions (all thanks to MAPPA). Apart from that trailer, the franchise also revealed a new visual for Ranma 1/2 that shows us the twin avatar of Ranma, Ryouga, Tatewaki, Kasmu, and a few more important characters from the series.

As for the voice actors, Kappei Yamaguchi will reprise his role as Ranma Saotome in the series, and Megumi Hayashibara will play Ranma’s female version. Akane Tendo will be voiced by Noriko Hidaka, and the narrator will be voiced by Ogata Kenichi. Ryoga Hibiki’s character will be voiced by Koichi Yamadera, and Kikuto Inoue will give Kasumi Tendo a voice. Sound Tendo will be voiced by Ako Otsuka instead of Ryusuke Obayashi. Similarly, Genma Saotame’s character will run on Cho’s voice instead of Kenichi Ogata.
