And the best part about the platform is that it also has some original anime shows to watch that are straight up bangers. Currently, Netflix has a plethora of anime shows to choose from, belonging to different genres. If you are someone who is looking for the best anime recommendation, then don’t worry, as we have your back. Moving forward in this article, I have mentioned the best anime series on Netflix that you can stream in a single go.

9 Best anime series on Netflix to kick start your streaming spree

Naruto

Anime series on netflix

Naruto is one of the top three anime series released until now. ON Netflix, you will get both Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. The anime revolves around Naruto’s journey from being a guy no one likes to become the Hokage of the Leaf Village. One thing that you should keep in mind before starting this one is that it is around 700 episodes long. There are a lot of filler episodes that can be skipped in order to stay connected with the main story only.

You are going to love the character development, though the pace of the story could seem a bit slow for sure. I am trying my best not to drop any Naruto spoilers here, but you are going to love some of the characters from the show, like Itachi Uchiha, Minato Namikaze, Kakashi Hataki, and a lot more to mention. And I am not saying that you are not going to hate a few of them, too (like I really want to hang Dunzo till death). Start watching Naruto now to indulge in a world of Ninjas with unbelievable energies.

Haikyuu

Anime series on netflix

Haikyuu is no doubt one of the best sports anime I ever watched. The show is a feeling in itself from the start. It is focused on Karasuno Volleyball Club, who were once the champions of the game but are not in the top tier anymore. They are often referred to as The Fallen Champions or the Flightless Crows. Nonetheless, the best part about time is that it changes (yaa, I know that was cliche).

Things took a turn in a positive direction when two first-year students joined the Karasuno Volleyball Club – Hinata Shoyo and Kageyama Tobio. While being in a neck-to-neck battle against each other all the time, they perform as an untamable duo in the matches, which gives the Flightless Crows hope that they can still dream of flying. One line more, and I know I am going to drop a major spoiler right away. Lastly, I just want to say that watch it if you are a sports fan and love the adrenaline rush.

CyberPunk: Edgerunners

Cyberpunk

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is something entirely different in terms of animation and story as well. The anime follows the story of David, a striving student who gets indulged in the criminal world, which is comprised of body modification. Seeing how difficult it is for his mom to manage the expenses, let alone submit his school fee (and the school is a super expensive one).

He joins hands with a gang named Cyberpunks and starts hopping on jobs in order to take his family out of poverty. The series consists of 10 gripping episodes, and trust me, you are not going to regret watching it. A word of warning, the show is kind of gore and has discomforting scenes as well. So, if you are someone who is not strong by heart, then avoid watching it (kidding, you can watch it easily; just make sure there are no kids around).

Vinland Saga

Vinland Saga

Are you a Vikings Fan? If your answer is yes, then Vinland Saga is going to be on your elite shows list. And if you are not a Viking fan, still watching a good anime is going to do no harm. Vinland Saga has two seasons, out of which the second season was released pretty recently and is available on Netflix. The anime is focused around Thorfinn, who is on his exploration of life along with seeking an opportunity to take revenge for his father’s murder (That’s the basic story; I am not giving any spoilers here).

The anime is full of violence, emotions, betrayal, brotherhood, and more. It tries to captivate the viewers from the very first episode. Now, I am not saying there aren’t any loopholes, But yes, you are going to love Vinland Saga once you get involved with it.

Tekken: Bloodline

Anime series on netflix

Tekken: Bloodline is a Netflix original following the popular Tekken games franchise’s story. I cannot remember the last guy I met who didn’t know about Tekken. Most of us (Millennials) have tried our hands on the first few installments of Tekken. And players these days are honing their skills on Tekken 8. Talking about the anime follows the story of Jin Kazama, who happens to be the main protagonist. Jin lives peacefully with his mother, Jun, away from the bustle of the city.

Nevertheless, things take a drastic turn when Jun is attacked by Ogre; and Jin has to leave his mother behind due to her order (the daily soap opera kind of stuff right). The anime has had a single season until now. Any further details dropped by me here would be like revealing the whole plot. So, I’ll refrain from doing that. Go watch Tekken: Bloodline on Netflix now to experience Tekken-verse like never before. Well, if you are free enough and have a decent PC, then you can also get your hands on the story mode of Tekken 8; it looks like something straight out of an action anime.

Kotaro Lives Alone

Kotaro lives alone

I don’t know about you, but yes, I watch lighthearted anime series on Netflix as well. And Kotaro Lives Alone is one of my favorites. It is the story of Kotaro Sato, who is a four-year-old boy living on his own in an apartment complex located in Japan. After becoming familiar with the surroundings, he develops a friendship with Shin Karino, who is not a famous manga artist. After taking care of Kotaro, Shin realizes what it feels like when you have the responsibility for someone.

The most intriguing (or you can say mind-bending) part of the anime is that depite being a kid and having friends, Kotaro never seeks affection or care. After watching it, I discovered that Kotaro Lives Alone is an anime that I never knew I needed. If you need a break from all that action and drama, then give this slice-of-life anime a try, and you are going to adore it for the rest of your life.

Deathnote

Anime series on netflix

All hail to Kagayami Light anbd Ryuk. If you are looking for something psychotic and colder than Alaska, then Deathnote is my pick for you. I know I am going to wage a war here with my statement, but Death Note is the best anime series on Netflix’. The story follows Light Yagami, who wants to change the world and remove all things evil from it. As the story moves forward, he gets a notebook named Deathnote that got misplaced by Ryuk, who is more or less an angel of death.

Later on, Light realizes that he has the power to kill anybody in the world by just writing their names on the Death Note. And that’s where things go down the hill as in order to remove all the darkness, Light Yagami himself becomes darkness. The story will keep you on your toes with every passing episode. It has a single season with 37 episodes, and your soul will scream on each one of them. So, get a Netflix subscription, for god’s sake, and start streaming it right now.

Baki

Baki netflix

You must have been familiar with the terms like alpha male and sigma male these days. Imagine a guy who has the charisma and power of a hundred Sigma males combined in a single vessel; that’s Baki for you guys. The show is a pure flex of muscle revolving around a toxic father-son bond. Baki, our main protagonist, has only one goal in his life, becoming strong enough to beat his father in a one-on-one showdown.

For starters, His father is Yujiro Hanma, who is the strongest man on earth and has defeated some of the most dangerous beasts that are beyond the control of a basic human. Apart from the protagonist, there are a lot of characters in Baki that will show you the actual definition of discipline and willpower. This Netflix original anime is a must-watch if you are someone who loves action anime topped with great strategic moves and emotions.

Record of Ragnarok

Anime series on netflix

What will happen if the mortals get into a brawl against supreme gods like Thor, Odin, Shiva, Poseidon, etc? That’s what you will get to see in Record of Ragnarok. The show has a completely different narrative, and that pretty much makes it one of the best anime series on Netflix. When the gods decide to wipe out all humanity, Valkyries asks them to have a neck-to-neck battle against the greatest mortal fighters. After getting permission from the gods, the best fighters from the earth are called to save humanity. Now, you will get to see a mixture of history and mythology in the anime.

And the best part is that the gods are designed in a mythological manner, which means you are not going to see a Marvel-like funny Thor who chills around with his hammer. Instead, you will get to see a super cold Thor with Mjolnir that is bigger than his size. From the human side, you will get to see some of the most famous names, like Adam, Jack The Ripper, Kojiro Sasaki, etc. One thing that you should know firsthand is that the show is not available on Netflix in all regions. So make sure you first check if the show is available in your country or not.

Wrapping up

As of now, these are the best anime series on Netflix that you can watch. That being said, I can’t deny that there is a lot more on Netflix in terms of anime that can be explored. In the future, I’ll be updating the list with more amazing recommendations. Keeping that in mind, don’t forget to keep a regular check on the Netflix anime recommendation list. And if you are done with all the recommendations already, then you can give a try to Ninja Kamui or Solo Leveling as they both are sitting at the top of the charts these days.
